The dream of becoming a trainer has been with her for almost her entire life. Bonnie would soon fulfill her dream and no one could tell her otherwise. Let dream be dream, nope, not for Bonnie. She took the chance, studied hard and now she would reap the reward of her effort. The Cobalion might be full of nerds and bookworms, but even these nerds party like animal in the final week of their school life. The final two weeks were free weeks for the to-be-graduates. It has always been like that. The younger students continued to study, lecturers taught classes like usual, but the fourth year students were literally having a free-for-all. A small portion of them would continue to study and practice their craft in the last two weeks, as to gain an edge when they finally start their trainer life. The majority though, took part in whatever they found to be most fun. It was full bound stress release for these students who were asked to be perfect in the last fours years. The night was still young, students were out or having their hangout sessions by the school's multi-purpose hall, and a surprise would hit them by the time they return to their dorm. Cobalion never told their students when would they distribute the starter's list, it's like "Arceusmas", but not on a fixed date. As Bonnie returned to her dorm, she would find her dormmate by the door, flipping through some kind of file. Looking at her door, she found a bag with her name on it...is this, the starter list?!
This is your Battle lecturer, Luke Perez, and I am not going to waste your time with all the long sentences that no one care about. I am aware that you have desire to get into the contest scene, but as a Battle purist myself, I cannot give you any advice on that side. All my decisions are based on battle prowess and battle prowess only. It is up to you to discover anything else about the Pokemon itself and...gah, this is stupid, that's all I am going to write down. Just read all the file and decide. You are officially an adult now, make your decision like one.

Option 1
Petilil, F
Height: 1' 8"
Weight: 14.4lbs
[Pictures: Most of them are her spending time with other Pokemon. There are also a good portion of them that looks to be her taking picture with different visitors to the ranch.]
Here is a Petilil, nothing too special, just a standard Petilil. If you are into contest, this can be viable choice. I mean, she has this "kawaii" thing that makes girls go crazy, not like I can understand that but if my wife and daughter can go crazy over a Lilligant, then a Petilil must not be that far away. She can eventually mature and be able to grow herb, useful if you want to change career and become a herb planter and seller by the south part of the region. Most of the trainers who try both sports either go back to sticking to one sport or retire early. I wish you good luck but I am also realistic.
Over the week, I have tested her battle capability. She did pretty decent for her age but she has not shown anything that put her over other Pokemon I have. As far as I am concerned, Petilil has two roles in Battle sport: wizard and witch*. You can go cleric and let her be capable of doing all the things like healing, debuffing and damage dealing, but most in the Cobalion System stick to one way. As I have always said, specialization is the key. Just look at the world around you, even human being are trained to perform exceptionally well in a very specific field. To go back to the topic, Petilil is exceptionally good in double or triple battle. The fact that not many people are taking advantage of this is a disgrace to all the trainers in this region. If I am not retired and understand whatever the deal is with "kawaii", I am definitely going to rock the multi-battle world with a Lilligant supporting one or two berserkers.
Hmm, what more can I fill the empty paper with...well, she seems to be decent around people. Among all the Pokemon I have, she got a lot of attention from my family. I don't know if it's her or just something that every Petilil can do. Feel free to take a look on those pictures and make up your mind. Oh, one last thing, she seems to have a thing for autumn. Again, this is something I don't understand either but Pokemon can be quirky like that. Based on the rancher, she always rushes outdoor on autumn to dance with the wind and fallen leaves. Or something like that. Just put her inside a Pokeball or put double lock on your door by autumn, easy. If you cannot even do that, please re-apply to the college again because you don't deserve to graduate.

Recommended Crunch
Nature: Relaxed/Modest/Mild/Dreamy/Calm/Gentle/Jolly/Naive/Docile
Ability: Either, Own Tempo fits better though since she apparently likes dancing to the falling leaves
Background: Cuteness Overload - Kawaii desu~~~
Increased: Charm/Intuition(Comes with natural charisma;connects to the world with her heart)
Decrease: Intimidate/Perception(How can she be intimidating?;you will know more when you get to know her)
Traits
Child of Autumn - In autumn, she gains the following bonuses: +1 to all default C.S.; (I reserve right to adjust if too good:) +1d6 on all contest dices
October Blue - She is sad when the winter comes to take away the autumn. -2 to all default C.S. and -1d6 on all contest dices on October
Height: 1' 8"
Weight: 14.4lbs

Option 2
Litleo, M
Height: 2' 00"
Weight: 34.7lbs
[Pictures: A lot of the pictures have him standing in front of other Pokemon, leading. Or that he is the only one standing on that one side, others are on the other side looking at him.]
Litleo, not the greatest Pokemon species when it comes to battle and I don't see many of them on the contest scene either. But well, not like you can expect a bad-ass Deino for a starter. If you want my honest opinion on a Litleo or Pyroar, it is not the worst Pokemon out there. If you look at craps like Furfrou, or Alomomola, then yes, Pyroar is clearly awesome but there is also a reason why it is not frequently seen in the higher ranks. In fact, if we look at all the statistic, Pyroar is downright average. Part of the problem with the Litleo family is that they need too much support to perform at a peak level. Firstly, their typing leave much to be desired as Fighting or Rock moves are very common. Secondly, their moveset are largely Fire so they are not really versatile. If you want, you can go fancy and useless like some Virizions out there with Sunny Day but there is a reason why Sunny Day isn't part of the Cobalion system -- hint: they are gimmicky.
So, how do we use Litleo effectively despite their shortcoming? For one, Litleo is a very aggressive species and has the capabilities to destroy a team if left unchecked. Warrior, Wizard or go hybrid with a Magus, they will destroy anyone without resistance to Fire. They can go both warrior and wizard and that means the opponent might not be sure about what wall, hybrid aside, to put in front of him. It is also fast so you can be pretty confident that you can outpace most things out there if you train up their speed and hit first and hard.
Moving on to the specific, this Litleo is apparently a born leader. As you know, male Litleo are rare and most of them are destined to lead in their own herd. As the rancher put it, the whole ranch, no matter the species and typing, is his herd. He is the kind of leader that led by example, standing in front of everyone else. If there is a problem, he solves it himself, usually by force, like walking down to the Pokemon not in line and slap it with his paw. While that might be an effective way to lead a Litleo herd, that doesn't bode well with all the Pokemon. As new Pokemon with commanding presence are born, the ranch eventually splits into three factions and they are constantly fighting between each others as if they are in Game of Thones. So, the rancher is forced to quickly distribute away the three leaders for an era of peace. All three leaders are very young and have been "the boss" in the ranch, so you can expect this Litleo to be bossy and might not follow your orders initially. The good news is he has had more fighting experience than other starters.

Nature: Proud/Brave/Stark/Composed/Hardy/Bashful/Serious
Ability: Either
Background: The Lion King - His title if he were on Earth...and associated with Disney
Increased: Command/Intimidate(Born leader, but do it with power more than anything)
Decrease: Guile/Stealth(Naive, has no handle of backdoor politic, which is a big reason why he cannot control the whole ranch; Think hiding is for coward)
Traits
Commanding Presence - In some situation, his presence empowers his owner's social rolls by at least +1.
Might Makes Right - Prefers martial and violence resolution more than anything. He gains +1 to all C.S. if a situation is resolved in the way he prefers.
Leader of the Herd - Increase loyalty gain if everyone in the team thinks he's the leader; lower loyalty gain otherwise(like having him with other Pokemon with strong opinion or big ego will not do well)

Option 3
Heracross, F
Height: 1' 8"
Weight: 56lbs
[Pictures: She is much smaller than your regular Heracross in the pictures, no surprise. Many of the pictures are of her helping other Pokemon in various tasks. There are a mix of her in the wild and in the ranch and she seems friendly and easygoing in all of them. Though most of them are taken from the side or from the back for some reason, there are rarely a picture of her full shot and from the front]
Alright, now that I have done writing all that craps over the last two fillers, we have the real deal here: a freaking Heracross. Do I need to write more? Heck, do I need to write anything else? Just take it and leave if you truly believe you are a Cobalion, because not doing so means that you are either drunk, crazy, or has been hit in the head recently. You see, one of the perks of being the best school in the region is we get some rare, quality stuffs once in a while.
I am obliged by rules to write more but please, if you are stll reading here, go back to the first paragraph, re-read it five times and just write "Heracross" on the small paper where you write your decision. I mean, what more can you ask for? Heracross is one of the few Bug types that performs well in high level battles, hits on a level that will put my Berserker to shame, and this one even has a good sense in the wild. From what I see here in your report cards, you barely passed all your survival classes so this Heracross will come in handy for you. The ranch she is from let the Pokemon venture into the wild once in a while to make them comfortable in the nature and to see how good they can fare in the wild. This Heracross is the opposite of you in the wild, she finds food, she helps her friends in navigating through tough terrain, even defend the ranch Pokemon against the wild beasts.
Despite her young age, she is already like a mother figure, or a big sister, to her peers. Well-liked by everyone, useful and eventually, a battle machine. So, again, just pick her, let her carry you in the wild and tournament, easiest decision over the four years you are here.

Increased: Survival/Charm(Keen sense in the wild, from a ranch that trains their Pokemon in survival;charming mother, the Joy of Heracross)
Decrease: Guile/Intimidate(honest, hate lying;just too loving to be intimidating)
Traits
Baby - -4 mod to all stats, -1d6 on all the skills above 2d6, reduced on level 25,35,45,55.
Growing Horn - Horn Attack starts with DB 5, and increases by +1 on level 12 and 20
